As the newest addition to the Ross Rumbell team, Brian Wong brings fresh energy and a keen talent for helping clients avert legal and commercial risks in corporate transactions. After law school, Brian ‘cut his teeth’ at some of Toronto’s most prestigious downtown law firms. He is passionate about applying his leading-edge legal knowledge to help Ross Rumbell clients solve problems and set their businesses up for success, now and in the future.
Legal background

Prior to joining Ross Rumbell, Brian worked at some prominent Toronto law firms, including Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP and Weirfoulds LLP. There, he supported a variety of corporate/commercial practice areas, including M&A, funds, and capital markets. With a special interest in medical sciences, he also enjoyed working in the health, safety, and environment department of an international pharmaceutical company focusing on occupational health and safety. During his time in law school he also assisted at the business law clinic helping incorporate new businesses and draft constating documents.

Education & certifications
Brian obtained his undergraduate degree from Western University with a double major in medical sciences and environmental sciences. A gifted negotiator by nature, he was a finalist in the Torys LLP negotiation competition in 2015. Brian also holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Canada) designation by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He continues to develop his professional working proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Fun Facts

Brian enjoys trying new and unique Tic Tac mint flavours, such as cherry-cola, and passionfruit. He also loves learning about new countries through reading about the meanings behind their flags. As an accomplished athlete – a former competitive swimmer and seven-time co-ed slo-pitch softball competitive division champion – Brian is always up for a game, and the next sports challenge!
